The hair is a la Pompadour, with a coiffure of black silk net, with large beads and a velvet coronet.  Fig. b . Afternoon dress for a young lady, or blue grenadine, cross-barred and figured with black. A waved trimming of pale blue silk with black lace, chenille tassels, and gimp on skirt and bertha. The low corsage is pointed, showing a chemisette of thin muslin puffs and Valenciennes inserting. The bertha crosses in front, and ties in back with long ends.  Fig. c . Artknits Special Collections: Sheet Music

Our sheet music is first printed in 1865, before when the Artknits Company was made. We have printed 12 sheet music. We lots of types: Classical, Jazz, Blues, and Others. Also, we had created new ones also. In 1930, they had created the first sheet music in the Artknits company, and we have them today also!

This visiting dress has brown silk, and it has good condition and a lots of patterns. It has 2 pieces. One is the bodice, and one is a skirt. A lot of women who are interested in history can wear this type of dress, and we need to think of a hat should be worn for a 1890s costume.

The History Of The Artknits Company

The Artknits Company is a company that has lots of exports like farming, knitting, music, and other types of exports. So, let’s learn about our 120 year history. So, how the Artknits Company was created is our great grandmother started her first export in 1890 when her mom learns to help, and sell olive oil. In 1902, the Artknits company introduced knitting classes, for a good export. In 1904, our export group called the “Artknits” was created by Fortanato’s (1897-1989) and Josephine (1899-1939), than in 1910, knitting was introduced in the Artknits group when Fortanato was 13 years old, to become the first group full of wonderful classes. In 1930, music and arts programs was introduced by Maria (1926-2014) and Peitro (1925-2013) by playing there first instrument called the “accordion,” and she paints her first picture, and they started creating more stuff. Artknits Rare Books!

We have a lots of rare books from the early 1900s that Fortanato got when she was still a baby, when she grew older. We have collections of history in pages this year, and you are going to learn what are rare books use for. Our rare book collection has Italian stories, many more. We have books from 1865-1989, so you can enjoy reading them by heart. Rare books means books that are exist today, and sometimes the pages are yellow, have broken covers, and best smell. And warning ⚠️: Keep away rare books from young children and babies. So, can you please take care of it?

Products imported from other countries!

We have lots of products like bags in other languages, and not in the same languages like in Canada and Italy. So, we have to import and try new goods, and try new technologies. We have to try what it is taste like, and how does it feel like. So, it was so great!

Artknits Special Collections

The Artknits collections began in 1890 when our great grandparents started farming with their old tools from the 1870s and the 1880s, and collecting them in there old unique house near the city of Rome. Over the years, the Artknits have collected over 1,000 vintage items from the 1800s and the early 1900s. Our stuff like jewellery, knitted items, old photos, books, and many other stuff. Many of our stuff had associated with the history of Italy and other types of inventions. We have areas of strength such as: •Jewellery  •Books •Toys •Knitted Items •Musical Instruments •Farming Tools •Old Photos •Paintings •And More! Starting in 2010, we have done our collections in photo frames and our old photo collections to put on our dining room. We have showcase a lots of items like our popular golden earrings from 1897 and our knitted shawls, toys, clocks, blankets, and hats from 1902-1989. The Artknits were in a joyful community in a lots of places and countries that have lots of exports. For more than 125 years, we have work so hard on our talents, and life in a nice community. ArtknitsCo is so proud to have people joining to have lots of talents. We have nice foods, and many Italian paintings to learn about different cultures and have a joyful feast with them. Bernice’s Corner has work so many of videos that make kids laugh. Thanks to our Catholic school council and the Artknits team. We are so proud to make music for us, do other types of exports.

Buffet at the Artknits!

Our buffet is Asian and international. We have lots of food that you can try, and you can call it “The Taste Of Asia, and there are lots of types of food there! We have breakfast, lunch, and dinner in our nice buffet, and you can eat a hundreds of food that you like. Make your own style meal that you like or what you don’t like. Back in 1904, Fortanato made the first buffet at the Artknits in Italy, and serve International and Italian foods. In 1977, we have our second buffet in the Artknit’s Canadian headquarters. Today, we have lots of foods that you try, and the message is: “Don’t Be A Picky Eater!”

Asian Cuisine At The Artknits!

This day, we are going to Hong Kong to try a lots of Asian foods! It has a great taste, and it tastes like  the taste of Asia. Try Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and other stuff. Just like in Toronto Pearson airport like food for travel. People will try new things, and try tastes from other continents and countries. It is just like international cuisine!

Meet Our Cutest Friend: Vernice Chong!

Vernice is one of our friends that is in Bernice’s Corner. She was introduced in December 26, 2015 in Promenade Mall in Canada. In August of 2016, Vernice’s first journey is Black Creek Pioneer Village, and in May of 2016, We have published a new video with Vernice, it is called “Feeding Baby Lolaha.” Vernice has talents like music, art, gymnast, and a dancer. Did you know what our oldest book is look like? It is one of our oldest Artknits books in world that can talk about womens fashion, politics, issues, music, cooking, and other types of stuff. This book was one of Bernice’s Corner’s buddies, the oldest one, and that book has fashion magazine buddies like the fashion magazines that we have brought in Artknits Thornhill! What is a design?

A design is a plan or specification for the construction of an object or system or for the implementation of an activity or process, or the result of that plan or specification in the form of a prototype, product or process. The verb to design expresses the process of developing a design.

Evolution Of Textbooks!

The history of textbooks dates back to ancient civilizations. For example,  Ancient Greeks  wrote educational texts. The modern textbook has its roots in the mass production made possible by the printing press.  Johannes Gutenberg   himself may have printed editions of  Ars Minor , a schoolbook on Latin grammar by  Aelius Donatus . Early textbo oks were used by tutors and teachers (e.g. alphabet books), as well as by individuals who taught themselves. The Greek philosopher Plato lamented the loss of knowledge because the media of transmission were changing. Before the invention of the Greek alphabet 2,500 years ago, knowledge and stories were recited aloud, much like Homer's epic poems. The new technology of writing meant stories no longer needed to be memorized, a development Socrates feared would weaken the Greeks' mental capacities for memorizing and retelling.
