We have planned to be a first communion girl from the 19th century. The dress is from 1863, and it is so plain. This dress has ruffles at the bottom, but you have to pleat a strip of fabric, and sewed onto the dress. This dress is hard to make. When we search for truly victorian patterns, we have seen this work dress pattern circa the 1860s. We have picked that dress because this dress is plain and simple. For the lace, We planned to go to Micheals to get it. It is just only the collar, has the lace. But, her headpiece sounds look like the Kate Greenaway books because of how the hat looks. The ruffle is attached to the bonnet, it has the ribbon that is sewn to it.
This is what the costume looks like: the girl in the middle. |
