And also, her parents break down Elisa’s communication barriers and they have create a learning style that Elisa could be develop in. And Elisa thinks it is important. Her goal is to make a place for all types of learners to make it easier to ask for help. This helps us to have very important social skills, when they don’t know something. Also, Elisa shares her very own achievement of using assistive technologies, for those who have learning disabilities. This helps people to learn and think differently. Elisa joins a program called “Kurzweil”. She was very happy about the program because this helps her crease her reading disabilities and she can do her work independently. Also, she shows her learning style as well.

Artknits Richmond Hill articles: A letter to Travis in the novel "Bluefish."

Dear Travis, Hey Travis, how are you doing so far? Has it been hard for you too? Class has been difficult lately, but I am sure it will get better eventually. Sometimes, school is hard for me too. In class, our teacher gave us a lot of hard assignments. It also takes a long time to do them.  I know that your life is different, and I understand you are different so I have something to share with you. I hope this helps.      I remembered when I was in grade 7, I couldn’t focus. Also, I could not read novels very well.  Or maybe, you should go see Mr. Mcqueen more often. Mr. Mcqueen can help you with your reading and your homework. When you are trying to achieve something you should believe in yourself and say “I am going to do it” and “I'll try my best.” You should make a schedule for time management skills. Or, you can find a tutor to help you with your homework. You can achieve this. I know you like talking about your memories, but you will do y...

Artknits Richmond Hill articles: Non-Verbal communication: A reflection

One of the most important things is communication skills. This is a skill that is important when you want to talk to people. Communication skills can be "verbal" because it was related to a "form of words." But today, we are going to talk about "non-verbal communication skills. Non-verbal communication skills are not saying words that how are you doing and what are you feeling. Non-verbal communication skills are kindly using your body language of how are you are feeling and doing. Like for example, when someone was angry they will do a hands-on-your-hips pose.  Or it also talks about your feelings and emotions because people can see or observe how someone was feeling, with their eyes. Like for example, when someone has seen a person feeling crying that means someone is feeling sad. Body language matters to everyone, and at least 70% of the communication between people takes place through body language and their voice.  But also, it could express people's ...

Artknits Richmond Hill Articles: Bluefish chapter 12: what is all about?

Travis did not connect with his grandpa at all. He does not connect with his grandpa because Travis was arguing about his dad how he died in a tragic car accident, where he drunk. And what is wrong with his dad. The bad things that happened in that chapter are grandpa was talking about Alcoholics Anonymous, and Travis did not like it. Grandpa kept talking about inappropriate topics like people trying to recover by drinking too much alcohol by the same problem. And Travis did not like talking about that topic at all. And Travis said to his grandpa that he was not an Alcoholics Anonymous. And his grandpa was saying that he was not drunk. Grandpa was saying to Travis that he was a "Shitty Bad Parent." So, that's why Travis did not connect with his grandpa at all. In social studies class at school, Travis's class teacher called Velveeta's name. A girl has taped a big "P" and an "N" onto the board. They are presenting a project about a "Paleoli...

Artknits Richmond Hill Articles: Bluefish chapter 11: what is all about?

Travis wanted to teach Mcqueen how to read. However, Travis is not a teacher. Travis likes the book. Mcqueen gave a task to Travis about how to read properly. Mcqueen does not want Travis to space out, and Mcqueen wanted to circle the words that he did not know with a pencil. Travis was not paying attention in class because when all of the students were listening to the presentations, Travis was looking at the fox book, and circling words. And he was not focusing like the other kids do. Travis is trying to circle the words in the "Fox" book. Travis and Velveeta were friends with each other. At lunch, Velveeta, Bradley, and Travis were talking about Veelvetta's favorite director: "M. Night Shyamalan". And Velveeta was talking to Travis and Bradley about her favorite 2 movies: "Sixth Sense" (1999) and "Wide Awake" (1998), and why she likes them.  Velveeta on Monday: Velveeta wanted to show her favorite director at lunchtime because she wanted ...

Artknits Richmond Hill Articles: Bluefish chapter 10: what is all about? (expecpt for the Velveeta on ... part)

Travis has a project about a skit to do in his social studies class. Travis does not like to work in groups just like Velveeta. Travis likes to work all by himself. said Ms. Gordon when she faced to Travis. He does not want to do the outline. Travis was being so lazy. This is why Travis does not like going to school because of his social studies project.  Travis was not an A+ student because he did not hand in his paragraph on literature, and he returns a blank piece of paper for the vocabulary quiz on Wednesday. Mcqueen wanted Travis to come to the office, and Mcqueen wanted Travis to do a book review on his "Fox" book. Mcqueen wanted to find a way for Travis to read better in class. He cannot read like his classmate does. Travis has a learning disorder. Travis gave up on his reading project because when Travis was so bad at reading. Travis does not keep trying at all. And, this is wrong.

Artknits Richmond Hill articles: Bluefish: Velveeta on Monday: Chapter 6: A summary

Velveeta wanted to be partners with Travis for a social studies project, that they have worked on in class. And Velveeta has a great idea about a very easy play that is short. And Travis was saying no to everything during lunch. After the Saturday morning sidewalk shootout, she might think that her friends are some kind. Velveeta called herself an "entertainment monkey" because she sits with her friends at the cafeteria if your friends are in Velveeta's group. And her friends were being nice to Velveeta. And Velveeta remembers she had invited her friends to birthday parties. And she asks someone that she remembers her 9th birthday party. And Velveeta has said: "When you got all those goofy stuffed animals from Goodwill and put party hats on them? That was the best birthday of my whole life."  Velveeta was talking about being partners with Travis and what does Travis did at lunch. And also, she talks about why did she call herself an "entertainment monkey....

Artknits Richmond Hill articles: Chapter 6 Bluefish summery

It was Monday morning, and Travis is making toast with butter, and grandpa is smoking and says "Don't suppose you made me any." And grandpa answered to himself: "Nope course not."And after, grandpa closed the washroom door, and he made more gross morning noises. The house that Travis and his grandpa were in is too tiny and small, opening onto the kitchen and the family room.  After when eats his toast with butter for breakfast, Travis was at the sink washing the dishes and doing his chores. His grandpa says to Travis about his homework. His grandpa said, "You have 30 days to do your homework and 30 days without a drink". After his grandpa talks about Travis about his homework, and grandpa does not care about Travis. Grandpa says "Get out of here, you are ruining my good day,'' said grandpa to Travis. This is a message from Bernice for trying hard on your quiz

I have got a mark that is over 70% of my quiz. It was very easy, but sometimes, the questions are very challenging for me. And they have put true and false questions. And the last question is so hard for me. And I try to think about it from what I have learned from elementary school, back in my health classes from St. Rene Goupil (Starting going there in 2016 when I was in grade 5). And in this quiz, those are the things that I have worked all the time. I have heard of reading strategies before when my tutor gave some worksheets on inference and main idea. And I have heard of stress when I was in grade 5 when we are learning about what ways to stops stress, and what is stress. So, I have done time management skills before, and I have been a successful student when I am exchanging schools in China and Canada. Most quizzes I have great success on, and some of them, I have failed on. I have heard time management by seeing schedules when I was in grade 4 in Aspirations and Discoveries. Sch...
